Calibre Scientific represents a portfolio of niche life science companies with a global reach over 175 countries.

Carl Stuart Group founded in 1984, also trading as Lab Unlimited are a premier distributor of products focussed on instrumentation, equipment, consumables, and the provision of services across chromatography, environmental, lab research and life science verticals.

Working with Hornblower enabled the vendors to progress discussions with the buyers confident in the experience that we brought in both agreeing deal structures which work well for all sides and leading the transaction bringing multiple stakeholders to an agreeable consensus.

Through many evenings spent on calls with the management and legal teams at Calibre Scientific, Julian Caplin with his wealth of international M&A experience brought the deal to a successful conclusion, enabling a clean exit for the vendors’ retirement and for the business to flourish with the new opportunities brought by a successful global company.
