We operate a flexible approach to fees depending on the individual needs of our clients. Our basic fee structure is outlined below.

The Initial Appraisal is FREE of charge and without obligation.

Business Sales Service

Our Business Sales Service is charged on a “success fee” basis. Hornblower commits a substantial amount of resource on our clients’ behalf, preparing their business for the sale process, researching the market, marketing and managing the transaction; because of this we do ask for nominal retainer fees, payable on engagement and heads of terms, to mark a joint commitment to the process. The retainer fees are non-refundable but are deducted from the success fee on completion.

You are not obliged to accept any of the offers we receive on your behalf and should you change your mind about selling your business, there are no ‘withdrawal’ fees. We do ask for sole agency and exclusivity throughout the process, for a minimum of 12 months.

Valuation Report

Our Valuation Report service is normally provided as part of the Business Sales Service Package. However we are happy to carry out independent valuations for a fixed fee.

Acquisition Target Search

Our Acquisition Target Search service is charged on a “success fee” basis. Because we offer a pro-active approach to researching off-market deals, advising on your growth strategy and managing your acquisition we ask for a nominal retainer fee for the initial stages of the process, which we agree with clients on a case by case basis.
