About Us

Hornblower Business Brokers act for owner managers of SMEs in the sale of their business. We specialise in selling businesses in the engineering, technology and business-to-business service sectors. The annual turnover of our clients’ businesses is typically in the range of £750k to £15m.

Hornblower is set-up to offer a personal one-to-one service based on an ethos of honesty and straight-talking. Selling a business is often a once in a lifetime event which can be both daunting and emotional; we will make sure you know what to expect at each step of the process.

We are a team of experienced business brokers / M&A consultants, and
as a client you will have one point of contact who will guide you through
the complete process of selling your business from the initial appraisal
meeting to the successful sale of your business.

Being focused on selling engineering, technology and B2B service businesses means that our database of buyers is focused on these sectors too, this certainly gives us a head start. In addition, we fully research our clients’ market to draw up a list of the most suitable strategic buyers and approach them directly.

We prefer to work with a smaller number of clients so that we can apply the resource that is required in order to achieve the optimum deal value and a high success rate.

As Hornblower also offers an acquisition search service for prospective buyers, we always make clear from the outset which side we are acting for, buyer or seller.

We Sell Businesses Both in the
UK and Internationally.

We have completed in recent years a number of international deals. We have sold four businesses in Australia, and have brokered two business acquisition deals in Denmark for an American based buyer and have
several more international acquisitions in the pipeline.

Through selling businesses internationally, we are quickly building our
database of active international buyers. Indeed, we have sold several UK based businesses to overseas buyers over the last few years. Despite, or perhaps because of, the Brexit process, we have seen an increased
appetite for cross-border deals and our truly international reach will benefit all our clients whether in the UK, the rest of Europe or in Australia.

We have offices in London within close proximity of the financial centres
of both the City of London and Canary Wharf, Nottingham in the UK East Midlands and Bristol in the South West UK. Our international offices are in Dublin, Ireland and Frankfurt, Germany.
